First Commis Chef - Bakery & Pastry | Qatar Aircraft Catering Company

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) - An Award- winning catering company, provides exclusive catering services to Qatar Airways and other airlines that service Hamad International Airport.

About Your Job:

In this position, the responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

Assign the staff to follow First In First Out (FIFO) system of handling raw materials and processed food at all times.

Ensure that all the meals are produced in accordance to the flight load given and tag with clear name and day code for easy handling.

Keep food trolleys covered at all times to avoid foreign object contamination

Coordinate with the staff to use raw materials efficiently with maximum yield and minimum wastage.

Provide proper wastage documentation to Chef De Partie / Demi Chef De Partie prepared for every product disposed as waste to monitor the over production and expiration of the products.

Coordinate with Chef De Partie / Demi Chef De Partie for planning of the section and support during menu presentation.

Facilitate all assigned activities and ensure that they are completed on time and the report is given based on production plan.

Divide all tasks assigned by the senior to his assistants.

Maintain tasks assigned by Chef De Partie / Demi Chef De Partie during their absence.

Follow instructions to help in smooth operations.

Assist Chef De Partie and Sous Chef in implementing new processes or new cooking techniques.

Provide all information related to machinery failure and small equipment damages to Chef De Partie.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Ability to communicate in the English language- both written and spoken

Minimum 3 years of experience

Min. high school qualification preferred

Good working knowledge about food and beverages

Basic knowledge of Food Hygiene and HACCP

Awareness of new trends and directions in the fine dining service industry

Ability to effectively supervise and train a large diverse wok staff and experience in managing a high- pressure environment

Planning and supervisory skills

Computer literacy

Outstanding interpersonal communications skills
