Primary Purpose of Job:

Follows the Offshore Well Drilling & Well Services programs, day to day progress at the

well site and manages Well Drilling & Well Services projects at the Equipment dispatch

and receiving point in Ras Laffan. The project management involves timely mobilizing of

Equipment and services to Offshore locations and timely return of Contractor rental

equipment to optimize the rental equipment charges. In liaison with Marine logistics

arranges Workboat for sending and receiving Equipment to and from Offshore Rigs.

Directs the work of preparing QatarEnergy supplied Drilling rock bits, Tubulars, Wellhead

equipment, Crossovers and Equipment skips for offshore rigs. Prepares stock inventories,

Purchase requisitions, Material reservations, and Contractors Work Requests related to

the Offshore Rig's activities. In liaison with Material department arranges inspection, repair

and storing of tubing and casing at the Material tubular yard. Covers the duties and

responsibilities of Logistic & Equipment Supervisor during his absence on annual leave.

Assist in Wellhead, Drilling Tools/ accessories, and Service Equipment management to

cater for the Offshore Well Drilling project at the Equipment dispatch and receiving point

in Ras Laffan.

Principle / Key Responsibilities:

1. Studies the Drilling work program and monitors daily Drilling operations summary of the

Offshore Rigs for preparing the short term and medium- term equipment and services

requirement.

2. Maintains close association with Drilling & Well Services Logistic & Equipment

Supervisor, Material Equipment handling Supervisor and Marine Boat scheduler in

maintaining the timely supply to the Rig.

3. Maintains close contact with Offshore Drilling Supervisor to ensure that the Equipment

are moved in close coordination so that the space and variable load limitation on the Rig

are neither exceeded nor the workboats decks are excessively occupied with unmoved

Equipment and Material.

4. In coordination of Drilling Logistic & Equipment Supervisor plans Equipment and Material

on future Well projects to ensure that project is not delayed due to lack of Equipment or

Services.

5. Ensure that the Equipment or Services as per drilling work programs are checked at

supply point to avoid any mismatch that could cause costly disruption of Offshore Rig’s

operation.

6. Coordinate with the handling section for the loading of equipment to the boat. Monitors

the progress and keeps the Logistic & Equipment Supervisor informed of the equipment

location at a given time.

7. Arranges inspection of the returned tubing and casing from Offshore and arranges repair

of the damaged tubular. Return all serviceable tubular to Stock supported with

inspection report and return reservations. Arranges inspection of the tubular retrieved

from Offshore wells during the Well workover for the corrosion monitoring study.

8. Receives the direct charge drilling equipment such as liner hanger, float equipment, drill

bits, cementing equipment, centralizers, wellhead components etc. at Ras Laffan based

Drilling Workshop. Prepares monthly inventories of direct charge materials received thru

the call off orders.

9. Inspect and arrange Equipment at workshop for onward move to rigs with proper

documents. Any discrepancy in specification and quantities to be to be brought to the

attention of the supplier and to the Logistic & Equipment Supervisor.

10.Directs and participates in the repair of drilling equipment at workshop such as

wellheads, spools, X- bushings, valves, and other equipment. Ensures that all works are

carried out according to the relevant API, NACE, or Manufacturer’s procedure. Arranges

bi- annual & annual inspection, MPI and load testing of cargo baskets, and wire rope

slings.

Decision Making Authority:

 Is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of Drilling Equipment & Services at

Offshore Rigs for Well drilling project and optimum spending of all the Contract Service

Equipment.

 Exposed to outside environment at Workshop floor, Material yard and Port that may

have dust, heat, humidity or noise and prevailing climatic conditions up to 60% of work

time.

Context / Special Features / Challenges:

 Performs duties to meet the Equipment, Services & Material requirement for the Well

drilling project with optimum utilization of resources, And in accordance with the

specialized relevant technical standards and Quality procedures. The work is under

supervision through the report and operation meetings.

 Application of technical knowledge as well as general awareness towards the Offshore

weather, local transport and Material handling for the often heavy and bulky Equipment

movement is of prime important. The work plans are time bound and have direct

effects on the Offshore Rig operation and cost effectiveness.

 Regular contacts with own and higher level, with Drilling Supervisor, Workshop

supervisor, Logistic and equipment supervisor, Material Handling Supervisor

Contractor’s Field Service Engineer regarding mobilization/ De- mobilization of

Equipment and Services for drilling operations.

 Exposed to outside environment at Workshop floor, Material yard and Port that may

have dust, heat, humidity or noise and prevailing climatic conditions up to 60% of work

time.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Diploma in Mechanical engineering or equivalent with minimum of 8 years’ experience

Offshore well services.

2. Computer knowledge of Microsoft office and SAP.

3. Good written and spoken knowledge of English.

4. Excellent personal and office organization skills.

5. Good listening and verbal English communication skills for effective interaction with

other members in the section.

6. Minimum 8 years’ experience in Oil field industry dealing with drilling operations on the

Offshore Rig, drilling downhole assemblies of deviated & horizontal hole, Offshore

logistics, Wellhead equipment and inventory management.

7. Flexibility to adapt new work demands and organizational changes.

8. Must possess a valid Qatari driving license
