We have an exciting opportunity for Sales Manager in our Liner Services team in Qatar. The main responsibility for this position involves generating new business and directing the sales team to achieve the stream budgets; The jobholder is likewise expected to develop New Growth platforms/project sales and monitor implementation of projects won from start till completion for revenue generation and customer satisfaction.
The role:
Business Development. To develop NVOCC/Sub-agency Liner business in the Qatar Market and maintain excellent business relationships with current pool of clients develop new strategic moves in expanding the current business profiles using traditional and creative methods establish marketing sales Promotions instructed by the Principles in order to identify new traffics , cultivate and nurture prospects in order to drive business growth to meet and exceed budgeted targets.

Network Partner Relationship Management. Maintain a close relationship with overseas agents, with a view to obtain competitive prices and best services.

Leadership: Ensure the effective achievement of Regional Liner objectives in the country through the leadership of these teams allocating resources, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize the performance of the department.

Debt Control. Follow up and monitor key accounts with the purpose of maintaining a low Debtors aging and credit periods within company approved limits.

Customer / Vendor Relationship. Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key-decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services. Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement.
Reporting. Prepare and submit Management Report to provide updates on the department performance and any deviation from company set objectives. Ensure monthly submission of all other operational, commercial and quality assurance reports.
Market Intelligence. Maintain awareness of developments across industry by communicating the market research to the Commercial and Sales / Marketing teams locally and regionally to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective policies and approaches. Monitor competitor activity and ensure that the appropriate responses are developed to any perceived threats to business. Analyse trends in the business environment, help to develop products / services that are responsive to the market demands and identify new market opportunities.
The ideal candidate:
7-8 Years experience NVOCC/MLOs Liner business out of which 3-4 years must be in a managerial role.
Excellent knowledge of Shipping Business
Proficiency in MS Office application (word, excel, outlook, Power Point, etc.) and related internal systems.
Good communication and interpersonal relationship in managing people/sub-ordinates, planning, organizing, and supervising.
Proven skills in customers management and relationship management skills, able to negotiate and persuade.
Good marketing ability and proven skills in identifying potential business opportunities.
Candidate in Qatar with a transferable visa will be preferred.
Appointment to this role will be subject to satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work documentation depending upon your geographical location.
