Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager with a strong background in retail operations and business development. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall management and strategic direction of our retail and distribution business focused on Oriental crafts and silver jewellery. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in retail management, business development, and a proven track record of driving growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Business Development:
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth, increase market share, and achieve revenue targets.
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends to expand the company's presence and customer base.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform business strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.
Retail Operations Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail business, ensuring efficient and effective processes across all departments.
Set and monitor performance goals for sales, inventory management, customer service, and profitability.
Implement best practices for visual merchandising, store layout, and product placement to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.
Team Leadership and Development:
Provide strong leadership and guidance to the management team and employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Recruit, hire, train, and mentor employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement development plans for team members.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor financial performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize profitability.
Implement cost control measures, analyse financial reports, and identify areas for improvement to drive operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
Customer Relationship Management:
Foster strong customer relationships by understanding their needs and preferences, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards are met.
Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
Address customer feedback, complaints, and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Requirements:
1.Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in the retail industry, preferably with a focus on business development.
Strong understanding of retail operations, market dynamics, and industry trends.
2.Retail Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of retail best practices, visual merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies.
Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
3.Business Development Skills:
Track record of successfully identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth.
Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and networking skills.
4.Leadership and Communication:
Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate teams.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
5.Analytical and Financial Acumen:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
Sound financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
