Primary Purpose of Job:

The purpose of the job is to perform various drilling tool service and maintenance activities,

primarily at the Tool Service Workshop.

Principle / Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform mechanical tasks in the workshop such as cutting of assorted pipe work in

accordance with specifications and drawings

2. Operate a range of heavy duty vehicles and cranes and load, transport and unload

heavy and bulky equipment and materials (including completion equipment) between

the workshop facilities and well locations.

3. Assemble and disassemble variety of down hole tools for inspection, repair or pressure

testing prior to storing or returning to rig service. Visually observe and replace obvious

faulty parts as required.

4. Clean and properly store wide variety of drilling tools and equipment in the workshop

stores. Perform routine maintenance including the oiling and greasing of store items

as required.

5. Arrange the delivery of emergency tools and materials to the wellhead / rig. And

coordinate the delivery with the Materials and Transport departments.

6. Train contractor labourers regarding all safety practice and procedures.

7. Supervise labourers and personally lifting, carrying and stocking various goods and

materials ensuring the safe operation especially for heavy equipment.

8. Initiate purchase orders and materials reservations required for the Drilling Workshop

using SAP and Materials Call off Orders. Ensure the materials required for drilling

operations are in accordance with specified quantities and specifications and are

loaded in a safe manner. Ensure all documentation are properly made and recorded.

9. Initiate contract work orders for fabrications, threading of tubular crossovers, pup

joints, etc. including receiving instruction for the work orders from Workshop

Supervisor with specification and drawings as necessary. Ensure the necessary

approval is obtained and coordinate with contractor until items are received in the

Drilling Workshop.

10. Ensures all works are performed in accordance with QATARENERGY internal policies,

procedures and standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Completion of Intermediate (9 years) education plus sufficient training in welding,

cutting, threading and grinding.

2. Good spoken and written English.

3. Must possess a valid Qatari heavy duty driving license.

4. At least 3 years of experience in drilling tool service
